Open Talk, an Open, All Gender/Orientation Discussion Group

Open Talk Logo OpenTalk is an informal rap group that meets for about one hour each week. "Talkers" update each other on the major events of their lives from the past week, before the general discussion. Weekly topics are selected by participants. OpenTalk is lead by Elias Scultori, and is held most Monday's in the Library, from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mature Men's Discussion and Activities Group

Mature Men logo The Mature Men’s group will meet on a monthly basis, on roughly the first Monday of each month, at 7:00pm. The group will conduct discussions in a respectful manner and is open to all mature men (recommended for men 45 and over.) Some men may also opt to participate in hands-on activities at GAAMC, or out in the world, as part of the activities aspect of the group. The meeting dates for 2010 are: 9/13, 10/4, 11/1, & 12/6. The topics for discussion may include: Making Friends, Transitioning to Retirement, Dating, Becoming Socially Active, Handling Life Crises, Dealing with Health Problems, Retooling for Employment, Travelling, Estate Planning, Introduction to Computers, Protecting Finances.

Circles, a Discussion Group for Men and Women

Circles-NJ Logo GAAMC’s Discussion Group Resources chairman, Gordon Sauer, is forming a new discussion group of men and women who will meet weekly for 8 sessions. The group will meet at GAAMC each Monday at 7:00 PM.


Based on a New York group that has existed for more than 15 years, Circles-NJ offers structured discussions in a safe space. At each meeting, we choose one of the topics below and answer questions designed to promote discussion in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. So, come on by and give Circles-NJ a try!
