Programs

Monday's at GAAMC
GAAMC hosts different programs each Monday evening. The following are general guidelines, for details please refer to individual program descriptions, or send an email to Info@GAAMC.org
  • Doors open at 6:30 PM, discussion groups and committee meetings begin 7:00 PM. Main programs start at 7:30 PM or 8:00 PM and typically last for 1 to 1-1/2 hours
  • Suggested door donation is $6.00 for non-members and $4.00 for members
  • Monday programs are held at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960

Our Discussion Groups:
Open Talk with Elias ScultoriElias Scultori, Certified Life Coach, leads Open Talk in the Library, beginning at 7:00. ALL are welcome to join this discussion. Topics will be drawn from all aspects of LGBTI life, or current events.


Logo for Gay Circles NJGordon Sauer, GAAMC’s head of Discussion Group Resources, leads Circles-NJ beginning at 7:00 PM. Circles participation is closed to those who sign up at the beginning of a course. Next course will begin in October of 2010. For Memorial Day, Members and guests brought delicious eggplant parmigiana, sausage and peppers, vegetarian chili with quinoa, cheesecake, cookies, deviled eggs and more all from special family recipes. Show us what YOU have to offer and enjoy one of the best cookouts you’ll attend this season.

  • Andy: Marinated Chicken Thighs, Raspberry Iced Tea

OpenTalk discussion group will meet in the Library, and this week's guest facilitator will be Kerry Dinkin.

Mature Men’s Discussion group will meet tonight, and this month’s topic will be "Making Friends".

the logo of the coolest GLBTI organization in NJ GAAMC’s gala 38th Anniversary celebration is an amazing event. Come meet one of our founders who remains active, and meet us at the place where we were born and continue to meet over the past four decades. Our archives are something to see!

Mickey Suiter and the Archives Committee are in search of GAAMC memorabilia, ranging from flyers, programs, t-shirts, photos, publications, documents, etc, to feature in this year’s Reunion Celebration! Come see the Casual Wear, Formal Wear and Talent/No Talent portions of the contest and we guarantee it’s something you will never forget!

WEDNESDAY, September 22, 7:00 PM:
logo of Randolph Township Free Public Library Being Gay in 2010: Join Andy, Sherri and Gordon as they present Being Gay in 2010, a presentation and discussion panel offered at the Randolph Public Library. The goal of this discussion is to enlighten and educate...to understand and appreciate both our differences and our similarities, i.e., our common humanity. There will be a Q&A period at the end.

This presentation will be followed up by "The Politics of Marriage" a lecture/debate with Professor Beth Kiyoko Jamieson of Princeton University on October 6th. In her program, Professor Kiyoko Jamieson will discuss same-sex marriage, why the state is in the marriage business, and connections between religious marriage and legal marriage.

Both programs are free to all GAAMC members and their friends, however, registration is required. You may register online by selecting the programs from their online calendar at Randolph Library Schedule of Events, or by calling (973) 895-3556.
 
SATURDAY, September 25, 10:30 AM:
photo of a footbridge across a lake at Schooley's Mountain ParkThose whacky, fun loving adventurers, GAAMC members Ed and Dave, are planning another fanastic day of sun and fun. This time it will be a classic Hike-Nic to Schooley’s Mountain Park in Washington Township, NJ, in western Morris County (20 miles from GAAMC).

They'll lead a one hour hike in the woods/hills of the park, followed by another pot luck picnic. Don't miss this one! Their last adventure drew guys and gals from FIVE STATES. If you want a piece of this action, you’ll need to RSVP ASAP, but no later than Monday, September 20th, the same night as the $1.98 Beauty Pageant.

Please note, this is not an official GAAMC event, but all GAAMC members and friends are invited. Everyone is responsible for their own transportation and safety. RSVP via email to 1pruney1@comcast.net, and Ed and Dave will send you more complete information.

FUNDRAISING DINNER! Gordon Sauer and Javier Montalvo will host a fundraising dinner at their home in East Hanover. The $65 per person buffet will include drinks, appetizers, a full vegetarian/non-vegetarian meal and dessert. Entertainment will be provided and a great time should be had by all.

Proceeds will be used to provide funding for GAAMC’s services such as: weekly discussion groups, printing and mailing Challenge, socials, special events such as the $1.98 Beauty Pageant, mailings to elected representatives, guest speakers and entertainers.
